Two Months Old!

Emory is now two months old! We cant believe how fast this is going. She is growing so much and changing daily. She has much more control over her head now and is getting very strong. She is also following sounds, toys and familiar voices. She is defiantly a morning girl and smiles a lot when she wakes up. It makes not sleeping in anymore way worth it! She is beginning to "coo" and make little happy sounds when we are playing and beginning to really like some of her toys. Her favorite toy right now is a sock monkey lovey she got last weekend from my great aunt and uncle (Madeline and Avery).  Oh and we cant forget about the fan! This girl adores looking at the fan. Running or not, it doesn't matter. When she spots one, she will freeze and stare for so long. She takes long morning naps and likes to play in the afternoon, but by about 7:30 - 8:00 she is done and wants to go to bed. She is sleeping good too. Right now she regularly sleeps 6-8 hours and some nights she has slept 10 hours! I am glad she is getting on a good schedule, but that just means she is going to have to go to the crib in her room soon :(. I will probably get less sleep when she is in there! But I guess it must be done.

We went to the doctor on Wednesday for her two month appointment and everything went well. She is growing like crazy. Maybe she will be tall like daddy! Expect to see her in the 2032 olympics. We are thinking vollyball or swimming :). She was such a little show off for the doctor. She was smiling and cooing at her when she came in. Then, when the doctor put Emory on her tummy to look at her neck strength, she rolled over for the first time! Little stinker... we have been working on that for the last couple of weeks! I guess she just wanted to show off her skills. She is right on track developmentally and doing a few things ahead of schedule. The only concern we had is for the past week or so she has been getting really upset when she burps. The doctor thinks its a little acid reflux, so she gave us some meds to see if that helps. I hope it does. We dont like her to hurt! Here are her stats from our visit.

Weight: 12 lbs 8oz (90th percentile)

Height: 23 1/2 inches (85th percentile)

Head: 38 1/2 cm (50th percentile)

My Grandparents (Charles and Lucile) also came to visit this month from Florence, Alabama. They came down for the weekend and we went down to the lake to enjoy it. Emory had a great time cuddling with great gradmommy. We are so glad they were able to come see Emory and cant wait to see them again at Thanksgiving.
